We had a great turnout for our first quadrant workshop and open hours. Over 70 members of the community offered input on the Northwest Quadrant and on what they would like to see there in the future. Staff will be compiling all of the comments, suggestions and ideas, and doing some research in preparation for a follow-up meeting in the fall.
For now, it's time to move on to the Northeast Quadrant. This area includes the Buckley and Bowers neighborhoods, Manchester Business Park, Lydall Reservoir and Brook, Manchester Green, East Middle Turnpike, the Hop River Linear Park and various cultural and institutional assets. The Northeast Quadrant workshop will take place on Tuesday, July 27th at 7 p.m. in the Senior Center at 549 East Middle Turnpike. This workshop will follow the same format as the first quadrant workshop, with small groups engaged in facilitated discussions on current conditions in this area, what it could look like in the future, and how it relates to the concepts of smart growth and sustainability. For those who cannot attend, we will be holding alternate open hours on August 3rd from 12-6 in the Police Department community room.
While an RSVP is not required, it is appreciated. Please call 860-647-3044 or email anderson@ci.manchester.ct.us to do so.
